Our Story

I (Zachary Mark) began, like many others, working in low paying jobs that left me feeling exhausted with very little left to give to my friends or family. When I finished my work day it wasn't my clients that suffered it was the people I did it for, my wife and the teenager in my care. These days many people feel similarly and feel as though their professional life is out of their hands and they are resigned to a continued life of poor wages, no purpose and poor treatment.

After accumulating over $150 000 in student debt and studying for 8 years, I started to question the story I had been told about the world and how to be successful in it. I got the degrees and got a full-time job, and as the money started rolling in, but I found that it didn't seem that the money made a difference. I was unhappy not because of the pay, or the job, but because of my own attitudes towards my work. More so it was the work I had to do, not my work. I didn't take ownership over my work, and therefore I couldn't take ownership of the successful outcomes.

Having spent 5 years of my life now working to support people of all ages to do the things most of us take for granted, from getting dressed and brushing your teeth to finding meaningful work and a girlfriend, I wondered who else I could help.

That's when I started Live and Grow, to help make the science of human behaviour available to people from all walks of life. I continue to work with parents and neurodiverse persons, but Live and Grow also supports those seeking more out of life. Whether its finding work life balance, finding purpose and meaning, leveraging your effort to achieve your goals, or hacking your neurology to achieve more in less time, I hope that the lesson I have learnt the hard way can help others. As a Behaviour analyst, I work primarily within a behavioural psychology lens and apply this to family life, parenting, organisations, people and culture, as well as life habits, daily living skills and individual performance. I am also passionate about integrating spirituality, ancient wisdom, modern Western philosophy and other psychological approaches into the behavioural model. I believe that the whole person is relevant to the work that I do as a coach.

I have also received training in positive behaviour support, organisation behaviour management, incidental counselling, and risk assessment.
